CalcRAR Archiver Project by Anthony Cagliano crheadimg

Ever downloaded a game or program from the archives of a major calculator forum and tried to put it on your calculator, only to discover that there are five or more different files you need to install? Or that the TI-Group file provided is invalid? Suppose you got the program onto your calculator, then several uses later your calculator crashes or you accidentally delete part of the package so now the program no longer works. If you are like me, you just give up on using the program at this point. Any calculator user, programmer or not, has certain expectations about the quality and useability of a program he or she has downloaded. A program that fails to meet these standards is not worth the time it takes to operate.

Introducing CalcRAR Archiver, a revolutionary TI software release. This program gives software developers an easy way to package larger projects and users of those projects a headache-free way to run them. On the developer side, CalcRAR enables a project author to package a wide variety of file types (programs, application variables, lists, strings, pictures, GDB's) into an Archive, a specially-formatted program, that is then compressed. On the user side, CalcRAR will silently decompress the Archive, back up any variables that are about to be overwritten, extract the Archive, and then run the main program. Once it is done, it will delete the unpacked files and restore any overwritten variables to their prior states.
